Headed to the Naval Academy’s Graduation Ball this evening? How to Succeed with Brunettes (1967) may provide a few last-minute tips on military etiquette at the ball and around town.
Following our series of GIF versions, here it is presented in full, courtesy of our colleagues in the National Archives’ Motion Picture Preservation Lab this Navy training film demonstrates proper dating etiquette for officers. Part of a recent accession of military instructional films from the Defense Visual Information Center (DVIC), the somewhat dated film features wonderful music, evocative of its era, and a fair bit of comedy, both intentional and unintentional.

Some genius replaced the music in the Party Rock video with the cantina song from Star Wars and it matches perfectly

The space pajamas as uniforms… And I’ll give Nemesis a good plot idea and good casting with Tom Hardy. Also the Data feels…I see your space pajamas and raise you
space capris
Kirk’s green shirt of tightness
Spock’s Tiara of Science
the Klingon equivalent of Weird Al Yankovic
this smarmy looking Vulcan
the costumes were always ridiculous
But not like they did in the 2270s…
I mean wow…

they made a leap forward though! very classy. and now they’re all redshirts uh-oh

Khan and his guys musta missed the memo, bless them, they look like Klingon vagabonds

don’t even get me started on their casual wear when they go lookin’ for Spock, though. Hnnng, Sulu. Just. Hnnnnnng.

No you’re right. All most of Star Trek is pretty great. Except the Motion Picture. And The Final Frontier. And Insurrection. And Nemesis. (Not being sarcastic. Those are the only faults I’ve seen. Still making my way though TOS.)
hahaha oh wow I forgot about the Motion Picture
it’s got it’s charm, I guess
but it has it’s glaring faults too I mean wow

I disagree with his casting too. I only said “most casting” because I didn’t want to come off as a jerk. Since Cumberbatch is so beloved on here. I’m not too big on Chris Pine and Zoe Saldana either. BUT AGREED. They have great chemistry and banter.
yo I kind of like Chris Pine as Kirk…? ah well opinions will differ
but it’s not that I didn’t think that Cumberbatch didn’t do well with what he was given, I just think that there are SEVERAL other people to whom I would have given the role before Benny boy (-cough cough-SENDHIL RAMAMURTHY DOES CRAZY-WITH-POWER REALLY FUCKING WELL-cough-cough)
but you know what I’m willing to muscle my way past the problems and focus on the good stuff because dammit all to hell I love pretty much all of the Star Trek stuff and I’m not gonna let anything change that
